Visitor Assistant

Visitor Assistant | Aveiro

In short

Settings → Visitor assistant controls a floating chat bubble on the live site. Turn on AI assistant (paid plans) so visitors ask questions from published pages, and/or human chat so signed-in visitors message your team in Inbox. Starter suggestion chips adapt to the page they are viewing.

Where to find it

Open your site in the editor and go to Settings. The Visitor assistant section sits below Visitor login. Both sections affect the same floating chrome in the corner you chose for visitor login. Publish Site settings after changing assistant toggles.

AI assistant

Turn on AI assistant to let visitors ask questions about your published pages.

Topic	Detail
Availability	Paid plans only — upgrade if the toggle shows an upgrade hint
Credits	Each AI reply uses your organization's AI credits, same pool as Quasar in the editor
Content scope	Answers are grounded in published page content on the site — not drafts or unpublished pages
Sign-in	Visitors can open the AI tab without signing in when AI is the only enabled mode

The AI tab header shows your site name (for example, Ask Acme Docs). Visitors type in the composer at the bottom; replies stream in the panel.

Assistant avatar

The assistant header and AI message bubbles show your site favicon from Settings → SEO when one is set. If you have not uploaded a favicon, visitors see Aveiro's default organization avatar instead of a generic placeholder.

Starter suggestions

When the AI tab is empty, visitors see up to they can tap to start a conversation. Aveiro generates these locally from your site — no extra AI call for the chips themselves.

Requirement	Why
Visitor login enabled and published	Human chat is signed-in only — see [Visitor login](/editor/settings/visitor-login)
Org DPA accepted	An owner or admin accepts the Art. 28 agreement in Organization → Settings — see [Visitor support chat](/messaging/visitor-support-chat)
Human toggle on	Site-level opt-in even when the org agreement is in place

Configuration	What visitors see
AI only	Single AI tab — no sign-in required to ask questions
Human only	Human tab — sign-in required to send messages
Both	Tab switcher — AI for self-serve answers, human for private support
