In short
Page settings store metadata in the database — not MDX frontmatter. Set title, summary, and tag for SEO and page chrome. Adjust URL path, cover, published date, byline, and optional layout overrides.

Opening page settings

In Pages, open a page’s Settings (gear or settings action on the row). The tree is hidden until you go Back.

Metadata fields

Field
Purpose
TitleHeadline in nav, browser tab, and SEO — write polished copy, not the raw slug
SummaryShort description for SEO and social cards (1–2 sentences)
TagSingle category label shown on the page
Cover imageHero or OG-style image for the page
Published atDisplay date on the page — editorial only, does not publish the page
Published byByline / author name shown on the page
Metadata ≠ go live
Published at and Published by are display fields. Making a page public still requires Publish in Settings. See Publishing pages.

Page URL

Change the path to move the page within the site URL structure. Rules:
  • Homepage stays at / (root index.mdx)
  • Coming soon page stays at /coming-soon
  • Paths must be unique — Aveiro warns if a URL is taken
The settings panel shows the resulting public path as you edit.

Layout overrides

Pages inherit layout from their collection or site default. In settings you can override:
  • Layout template — pick a named layout from your site registry
  • Slot visibility — header, body, sidebars, footer, branding on/off (coming-soon pages keep branding on by default; other chrome slots stay off unless you override)
  • Metadata block — show or hide title/summary/tag chrome on the page
  • Site navigation — show or hide nav for this page only
Use Add override to layer overrides; remove overrides to inherit again.

Cover and byline

  • Cover image — pick from the org media library or upload; used in cards and page header when layout enables it
  • Published by — choose an org member or enter a display name

Saving

Changes save when you confirm fields or leave inputs (debounced save). The open editor refreshes metadata in the preview when saved.

AI and metadata

Quasar can update metadata with the update_page_metadata tool. Same fields as this panel — prefer the UI for fine-grained image and byline picks.
