Settings → Analytics toggles tracking for the live site. Aveiro analytics is cookieless and anonymous — nothing is stored on your visitors' devices, so no consent banner is shown and every visit is counted.
Analytics toggle
Track visitors and events enables Aveiro analytics for this site’s published traffic. When on:
Page views and events flow to Dashboard → Analytics
Live visitors appear when active
Every visit is counted — there is no consent banner and no opt-in step
Visitors see a small, dismissible privacy notice explaining that the site counts visits without cookies
When off:
No new analytics collected from the public site
Draft preview traffic in the editor is not the same as public analytics.Publish Site settings after changing the toggle for live behavior to update.
How cookieless tracking works
Aveiro analytics never stores or reads anything on the visitor’s device — no cookies, no localStorage, no fingerprinting of device properties. Visitors are counted with a hashed identifier derived from IP address, browser, and the current date. The hash rotates daily, raw IP addresses are never stored, and visitors cannot be tracked across days or across sites.Because nothing touches the visitor’s device, the ePrivacy consent requirement for cookies does not apply, and the minimal server-side processing rests on legitimate interest. Browsers sending a Global Privacy Control signal are excluded from tracking entirely.
Your privacy policy
Your responsibility
Even without a banner, transparency rules still apply: if you run analytics or collect emails, describe it in your site's privacy policy. Mention that the site uses cookieless, anonymized visitor statistics.
Add your policy's URL under Settings → Analytics → Privacy policy URL. When set, the privacy notice on your published site links to it, so visitors can always find how their data is processed. The notice is informational only — a compact card with concise copy about anonymous, cookieless counting, a link to your policy when configured, and a single Got it dismiss button. No consent toggles, because nothing on the site requires consent.
Relationship to dashboard Analytics
Organization Analytics aggregates data from sites with tracking enabled. Per-site toggle lets you disable tracking on staging clones or internal microsites.
