Publishing Pages

How to publish page content from the editor, select pages, and understand live vs draft.

Page Settings
Version History
In short
Open Settings → Live / Not live publish menu. Enable Page content, select which pages to publish, and confirm. Visitors then see published snapshots on your public URL — drafts stay in the editor until the next publish.

Where publish lives

Publishing is in Settings, not the Pages tab. The Live or Not live button opens the publish menu. The top toolbar uses a split Publish control: click Publish for the full menu, or open the chevron and choose Publish page to ship only the active page.

Publish the current page

When you are editing a page, use the fastest path to go live:
  • Toolbar → Publish (chevron) → Publish page — publishes only the active page
  • Pages tab → page menu → Publish — publish a specific page from the file tree without switching to it first
The button is disabled when the page has no unpublished changes, when publishing is blocked by a gate, or when you have unsaved edits on the active page — save first, then publish. In pre-launch (coming soon) mode, quick publish applies only to the coming-soon page.

Publish menu options

Typical toggles:
Option
What goes live
Site settingsSEO defaults, analytics toggle, and related site metadata
Style & layoutPublished style tokens and layout configuration
Page contentSelected MDX pages as snapshots
Coming soon pageOptional coming-soon route when enabled for the site
Turn on at least one option before publishing.

Selecting pages

When Page content is enabled, the menu lists pages grouped by collection (matching the file tree). Check individual pages or whole groups. Indicators may show:
  • Dirty — unpublished edits since last publish
  • — page has no live snapshot yet
Never published
Fix broken blocks before publish if the menu warns — invalid MDX components block go-live for affected pages.

After publish

  • Dashboard site card shows a green pulse when content is live
  • Settings button reads Live
  • Public URL serves the published snapshot
Edits you make afterward are drafts until the next publish.

Unpublish

The same menu supports unpublish for selected pages. Unpublishing all public pages may hide the site entirely (depending on settings).
Unpublish does not delete draft content in the editor.

Publish vs save

Action
Effect
Save / auto-saveUpdates draft in database — editor and preview see it
PublishCopies selected snapshots to the live version visitors receive

Quotas and gates

Publishing may be blocked when:
  • Subscription expired or site limit reached
  • Broken MDX blocks on selected pages
  • Plan does not allow more live sites
Messages in the menu explain the gate. Check Billing → Usage or fix content errors.

AI publish tools

Quasar can publish when you explicitly ask. Always review the publish menu selections after AI runs — do not assume everything went live.

Per-language translation switches

When localization is enabled, the publish menu lists every target language under Page content. Locales with unpublished changes show an enabled switch and a N changes pill; locales that are Up to date show a disabled switch so you can see which languages exist without publishing them. Switches are off by default for locales with pending work — a plain Publish ships source-language pages only, so draft translation variants never go live by accident.
Enable one or more locale switches alongside Page content, then publish. Aveiro runs one publish pass per selected locale, so a broken variant in German does not block Spanish from going live.
Per-language switches also publish site text for the locale — page variants and chrome ship in the same pass.
