Publishing Settings vs Content

What Site settings, Style & layout, and Page content each publish — and how to combine them.
Updated 17d ago
Settings Overview
SEO and Social Sharing
In short
Publishing is split: site settings (SEO, analytics), style & layout (theme + templates), and page content (MDX snapshots). Toggle each group and publish in one action from Settings.

Why split publish?

Aveiro lets you change chrome and settings without pushing every page live — and vice versa. Useful when:
  • Tweaking SEO defaults without re-snapshotting all pages
  • Publishing copy updates without touching layout tokens
  • Publishing a new layout without republishing unchanged articles

Publish groups explained

Group
Includes
Site settingsSEO defaults, analytics toggle, site metadata
Style & layoutGlobal style tokens and layout registry configuration
Page contentSelected MDX pages — each becomes a live snapshot
Coming soonComing-soon route when that mode applies to the site
Enable one or more groups each time you publish.

Typical workflows

Launch a new site
  • Publish Style & layout and Site settings
  • Publish Page content for homepage and key routes
Content-only update
  • Enable only Page content
  • Select changed pages
Rebrand
  • Update Styles tab and Layout
  • Publish Style & layout (and Site settings if SEO image changed)
Take site offline
  • Unpublish all pages from the publish menu, or unpublish until the site shows Not live

Live indicator

Live on the Settings button means at least published public content exists — not that every draft is live. Check selected pages in the menu before assuming all edits are public.

Broken content gate

Publish may block Page content when MDX contains broken blocks (unknown components). Fix in Source/Visual or revert, then retry.

Unpublish semantics

Unpublishing pages removes their public snapshots. Unpublishing everything may hide the site from visitors while drafts remain in the editor.
