In short
Organization → Members lists everyone in your workspace. Owners and admins invite people and set roles. Members get explicit capabilities and site access — not a one-size-fits-all editor or viewer role.

Roles

Every member has one of three roles:
Role
What it means
OwnerFull control — billing, delete organization, transfer ownership. Exactly one per org.
AdminFull operational control plus member management. Cannot touch billing, delete the org, or transfer ownership.
MemberNo blanket access. Gets only the capabilities and site access you grant.
The old Editor and Viewer roles no longer exist. Existing editors and viewers were migrated to Member with equivalent site access.

Capabilities

Members hold an explicit set of capabilities:
Capability
Grants
Chat accessOpen and reply in the support inbox
Audience importImport subscriber lists
Audience manageView and edit subscribers, segments, domains, deliverability
Audience createCreate and edit email campaigns
Audience sendSend, schedule, and resend campaigns
Docs updatePublish and unpublish site content
Owners and admins always have every capability. For members, toggle each capability in the Manage permissions dialog.

Site access

Site access is restricted by default for members:
Setting
Effect
Org-wide defaultNone, view, or edit — applies to every site, including sites created later
Per-site overridesGrant view or edit on specific sites; the higher level wins
Allow admin actionsOperational admin power on all sites without the admin role
A member with default None and no overrides sees no sites in the dashboard. Allow admin actions grants manage-all-sites, full audience tools, chat, and organization settings — but not billing, deleting the org, transferring ownership, or editing other members' permissions.

Inviting members

  • Open Organization → Members.
  • Click Invite member.
  • Enter email and choose a role.
  • For Member, open Manage permissions to set capabilities and site access before or after they accept.
Pending invites must be accepted before the member can access the org.

Who can do what on sites

Action
Typical access
Edit site contentMembers with edit on that site, or admin actions
Duplicate siteMembers who can edit the site
Archive / restore / deleteOwners and admins only
Publish contentMembers with docs.update and edit access on the site
Exact access depends on the member's grants. When in doubt, ask an admin.
