SEO and Social Sharing

Default site title, description, and social image — plus how page metadata overrides them.
Updated 14d ago
Publishing Settings vs Content
Site Name and URL
In short
Settings → SEO sets site-wide defaults for title, description, and OG image. Individual pages override with their own title and summary in Page settings.

Site-wide SEO fields

Field
Purpose
TitleDefault browser tab / search title when pages do not override
DescriptionDefault meta description for search and snippets
Default social imageFallback Open Graph image when pages lack a cover
Character limits apply — the inputs clamp to recommended SEO lengths.

Page-level overrides

Each page’s Page settings provide title and summary for that URL. Page cover images can serve as social previews when layouts expose them. Hierarchy:
  • Page metadata when set
  • Site SEO defaults when page fields are empty

Publishing SEO

Site SEO defaults publish with Site settings in the publish menu. Page titles and summaries publish with Page content when those pages are selected. Draft metadata in the editor does not affect live SEO until publish.

Server-rendered page content

Published Aveiro sites now include full page body and site navigation in the initial HTML response. Search engines, link-preview bots, and visitors on slow connections see your MDX content right away — not an empty article shell that fills in after JavaScript loads.
What
Why it matters
Page body in HTMLCrawlers and AI assistants can read your headings, copy, and links without running client-side MDX
Navigation links in HTMLHeader and sidebar links are present on first paint so crawlers can discover your site structure
Automatic on live URLsNo workflow change — applies to published snapshots on your public URL and custom domain
Graceful fallbackIf a block fails server compile or render, that page falls back to the client renderer instead of erroring the whole route
Page title, summary, Open Graph tags, and canonical URLs were already server-rendered. This release completes the picture for and .
visible content
internal links
You do not need to republish existing pages for the improvement to apply — it is a platform rendering change on the next request to your live site.

Best practices

  • Write unique titles per important page — avoid every page sharing the site default
  • Summaries should read well as tweet/card text — concrete, under ~160 characters when possible
  • Use a default social image at site level so shares never appear blank
  • Set cover images on key landings for richer previews
